Studio Joe is not just a place to make great music and drink great coffee.

The space can be rented for other events too.

Stax Tribute Band
From the left: Carlos Summers on Trombone; Mike Dollins behind him on Electric guitar; Kirk Ray on drums,
R. David Lewis on sax; Dennis James and Gene Reid on guitars; & Rob Barrow (one of the owners) on bass.
These middle-aged white guys love Stax Records’ soul music so much they threw a
50th Anniversary Party for Stax in August 2007.

Talk to Rob about having your special event here.
Anything from an office holiday party up to a small wedding can be accommodated.
Rob and Dave can recommend musicians if you want live background music.
The basic seating arrangement can handle up to 65 persons with a mix of casual seating and tables-with-chairs.

Rob also knows a good caterer if you don't already have one lined-up.

Menu

            Joe menu with burgers

Rob and Dave have pooled their family recipes on "how to spice hamburger meat" and come up with a very nice burger to underlay the wine and beer. That Joe Hot Burger involves pepper jack cheese and jalapeno peppers.

All burgers come with chips and a dill pickle spear, and optional onions.

shiraz and pinot      beer
YrHumbleWebscribe is not as up on Pinot Noir as on Shiraz;
if the Cavit is as good as the Yellowtail, though, it is very nice indeed.
Besides the two photographed, they also offer Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon from Yellowtail.
The initial beer list:  Regular = Miller Lite and Bud Light.  Premium = Smirnoff Ice, Blue Moon, Corona, Boulevard, Foster's, Rolling Rock, Killian's, Guinness, Fat Tire, and Diamond Bear (local)

Dave has a bit of fun with a Theremin in the studio.

Way of Life

Way of Life:

Any coffeehouse has great coffee, and most of them have great munchies to go along with it.
NOT all of them have great live music on the side, though.
Rob Barrow designed this place to be a room that is fun to play in, and WOW! did he succeed!
Yr.HumbleWebscribe is old enough to remember Fifties & Sixties coffeehouses, and so is Rob.
He's got the ambiance nailed, missing-only the cigarette (or more exotic) smoke.
Rob and banjo I don't know how much Rob and Dave spent on the microphones used here, but they make everyone sound great!  If your music-group prefers to settle in a circle of chairs and couches, the microphones aren't really necessary, unless you've got something ready enough for prime time that you'd like to have Dave record it.
This is a wall quilt inspired by STUDIO JOE.  The music mixed in with the coffee is a bit folksy, a bit jazzy, a bit bluesy, and a bit of Celtic around the edges.  The only thing missing is a drop of the Creature to put IN the coffee: Rob only has a Wine and Beer Permit. coffee quilt
STUDIO JOE also has a presence on MySpace,
